Nigeria’s Minister of Science and Technology, D.r Ogbonnaya Onu in a recent press release has disclosed that the federal government is not resting in its bid to bid and launch satellites for the country.
The Minister made the statement at the inauguration of Space, Siemological and Other Infrastructure Projects Centre For Geodesy and Geosynamics Main Observatory Seismic Network Centre in Toro Local Council of Bauchi State.

He categorically stated that by making investment in space science technology, it wll enable the country catch up with the developed word. Because Satellite would help improve the lives of Nigerians.
In a statement released by the Head, Press and Public Relation Officer in the Ministry, Abdulganiyu Aminu, Onu acknowledged that the centre was established with the purpose of carrying out earth observations, research as well as predict and monitor other parts of the world.
The primary goals and objectives of the centre are to achieve Nigeria’s capability, manpower and hardware development that can sufficiently address space geodesy, crusta deformation, coastal deformation, subsidence and global main sea level monitoring, the minister concluded.
